Hi All,

As you all might have noticed we've been getting spammed a lot lately, I've been getting onto the site as soon as I can everyday to try and delete the posts but thats all I can do.

I have asked Rob to jump on when he gets a sec and delete the dodgy users, and as soon as he has chance I am sure he will. In the mean time - please do not even look at any posts with any dodgy titles as Northerner reported to me that when he clicked on a link that he thought was mini related - his PC got hit by all manner of trojans etc... thank goodness for AV software.

Looking forward though - I am not sure what to do, as I cannot look at the forum everyday and if we continue to get hit, it's not presenting a very family friendly environment.

Can anyone recommend anything? I'm sort of getting to the point where I will take the forum off the site (which would be a shame as it's v useful) but I will be doing that when I go to Yorkshire for the M&C as the stuff thats being posted is just too x-rated.

If any of you spammers ever read this. JUST GO AWAY!!! LIKE A MINI FORUM IS THE PLACE TO POST THAT KIND OF CRAP. HAVE SOME SENSE OF RESPONSILBILITY YOU UTTER T*SSERS.

Update for you all..

Rob has deleted all the dodgy users and made it so that new members have to have their application 'approved' to post. So we think all applications will go to Rob & I for approval.

I know this may make it a bit long winded for new users but it's going to save us A LOT of time & money in the long run!

Hope this is OK with everyone?

Thank you guys, I cant stress how thankful I am that you dedicate so much time to the forum and website, it annoys me greatly when we get hit by spammers, not only because it ruins our very useful service but with the things that are posted being so gross and the fact that an accidental click can lead to damaging your expensive machines........

Spammers are thoughtless to others and only after as much publicity for their sordid sites as they can get, there are plenty of dodgy websites that they can use so why infiltrate ours.

Two words and the second is OFF!!!! Mad

the confirmation email didnt work, i read up on phpbb's website (people that run these forums) and the general response was "spam happens, deal with it" so will just to keep deleting it
